Rock 'N' Rods of New York, Inc. is a not for profit, incorporated, philanthropic and socially-oriented club organized
by and for automobile enthusiasts to promote interest in classic, vintage, historic and special interest vehicles. Membership
is open to any individual who manifests an interest in these vehicles and who enjoys the camaraderie of others who share this passion
. The club membership reflects a broad cross-section of the local community. The club was organized in 2003 and incorporated
as a not-for-profit corporation under the State of New York in 2004.
The club sponsors and participates
in an active program of events throughout the year including:
Weekly Cruise Nights : Cruise nights take place every Wednesday
evening from May through September 6:00pm to 9:00pm. A DJ plays music from the 50's, 60's and 70's which provides a musical backdrop
to an imaginary return to those memorable decades. Club members, friends and car enthusiasts come every week to show their cars,
see other cars on display, exchange stories and restoration resources and to get advice and guidance. Trophies are awarded for many
classes of cars and motorcycles. This past cruise season Rock "N" Rods along with the City of Yonkers sponsored 2 free concerts.
Social
Events: The Club sponsors many social events which include monthly meetings, which are held on the second Monday of each
month, seasonal parties, dj nights, and other scheduled gatherings where the membership and their families continue to develop friendships.
Club
Reciprocity: Rock 'N' Rods enjoy an amicable relationship and association with several other car clubs in the lower Hudson Valley
and New York metropotitan area. The club members attend many car shows as a group.
Philanthropic Activities: A significant portion
of the funds raised through club activities are contributed to local charities. Charities that have received contributions from
Rock 'N' Rods include the Mayor's Toy & Coat Drive, a children's medical facility at St. Joseph's Hospital in Yonkers, Marine's
Toys for Tots and Fessenden House (men's residence).
